Scientific Programme | Call for papers

General principles

  • Communications must be explicitly included in the JIL2021 general theme.
  • Communications can be individual or collective.

Proposals submission

  • Each (individual or collective) communication proposal must be submitted in the corresponding presentation language.
  • Communication proposals (summaries), with a minimum and maximum of 2 000 and 2 500 characters (spaces included), respectively, must be registered and submitted, via the corresponding application form, on the JIL2021 website, by 10/15/2021.
  • Each collective communication proposal must be presented and submitted exclusively by the respective first proposing co-author; the process of nomination and registration of the remaining co-author(s), to be initiated by the JIL2021 Organizing Committee, will only occur after the eventual approval of the referred proposal by the JIL2021 Scientific Committee.

Proposals selection

  • The selection of communication proposals will result from the decision of approval or rejection – definitive and non-appealable, without the need for reasoning and/or justification – by the JIL2021 Scientific Committee (cf. general evaluation criterIa).
  • Decisions to approve or reject communication proposals will be based on the results of a confidential process of double-anonymous peer review.
  • Decisions to approve and reject the communication proposals will be communicated, by the JIL2021 Organizing Committee, by email, to the (first) respective proponent, by 11/02/2021.
  • Approved communication proposals will be edited and published in a Communications Summary Book (in PDF format with ISBN and DOI), exclusively on the JIL2021 website, on 11/29/2021.

Communications presentation

  • Individual communications must be presented by the respective proponent.
  • Collective communications must be presented only by one of the respective proponents.
  • Communications will be presented orally (20 minutes maximum), with or without multimedia support, in one of the working languages of JIL2021.
  • Communications will be presented in parallel and simultaneous sessions of a maximum of 3 communications per session.
  • Communications will be grouped on the basis – whenever possible – of the combination of both thematic and disciplinary criteria (regardless of the working language).
  • In each presentation session, the general discussion (20 minutes) of the respective communications will take place immediately after the presentation of the last communication of the corresponding block.

Proceedings

  • For the purpose of eventual publication – in one of the working languages of the scientific meeting – in the JIL2021 Proceedings, the full texts of the communications effectively presented must comply with a set of writing and formatting rules that will be the object of dissemination, on the JIL2021 website, on 01/10/2022, under open access, as well as free for downloading and printing.
  • The full texts of the communications effectively presented must be registered and submitted, on the JIL2021 website, by 02/28/2022 (limit date without delay).
  • The inclusion of the full texts of the communications effectively presented in the JIL2021 Proceedings will be a function of the corresponding approval decisions – definitive and non-appealable, without the need for reasoning and/or justification – of the JIL2021 Scientific Committee.
  • Decisions to approve and reject the full texts of communications effectively presented will depend on the results of a anonymous peer review process.
  • Decisions to approve and reject the full texts of the communications effectively presented will be communicated, by the JIL2021 Organizing Committee, by email, to the (first) respective (co-)author.
  • The JIL2021 Proceedings (in PDF format with ISBN and DOI) will be exclusively edited and published on the JIL2021 website, on 06/30/2022, in an open access regime, as well as free for download and printing.

Observations

  • Only communications whose authors are registered in JIL2021 can be effectively presented.
  • The effective presentation of a collective communication can only occur if all co-authors of the corresponding proposal are registered in JIL2021.
